Less is more (an RV kind of Christmas tree)

Some time back, my friend Tiffany offered me three words of encouragement.

Less is more.

I didn’t realize, then, I’d be celebrating Christmas in an RV.

And living out less is more as a family.

This journey is certainly one to be remembered.

A path taking our family toward a greater appreciation of the simple.

Lives uncluttered.  Tidying up the heart.

Realizing Christmas can actually be celebrated without the familiar DuBois dazzle.

Meet our Christmas tree.

And welcome to simple living.

A friend of mine was going through a tough trial much like yours and he said something that I have never forgotten: “I realize there are people in Africa and North Korea who are suffering more than me, but the Lord knows this is all I can handle right now.”

God bless you in your simple living style.

What a profound statement. Seriously. Sometimes we beat ourselves up for not being beaten up. God put us each in unique situations according to His plan. And all for His glory. I pray our family stays on His path and honors Him continually with our choices.

Thank you, as always, for your insightful encouragement (both here and on your blog).

We’ve got one of those too!! It’s a great reminder to us of “what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.” 🙂
